When a run-down quadruplex unit across from the Badin Historic Museum
became available, volunteers decided it would make a good museum.
In 2003 Badin Historic Museum, Inc., purchased the unit, called an "apartment"
by locals. In 2004 with the help of generous donors, and through grants
and fundraising, Badin Museum was able to begin work on the property.
Professionals were brought in for the initial stages that included drainage,
roofing, plumbing, and electrical work. A hard-working team of volunteers
did the rest.
Today, with its refinished pine floors, period bathroom fixtures, kitchen
appliances and furniture, the building stands as an authentic example of
a 1915 Badin residence.
